Ice Cream Cone ---- Say WHAT!!!!!

I think we can clearly see ----- A WINNER!!!

Loving that 22 Month Old

After so many weeks of hot weather and absolutely no rain
 we are finally getting some cool and LOTS of rain.

We certainly need the moisture but I have so much to do in the garden that enough is enough ---
 for now.

So here I sit on a rainy Saturday morning waiting for the banana apple muffins to come out of the oven.

We had a 2 day 2 night visit with our fav 22 month old.
Mommy and Daddy decided to have a little away time.
They visited North Bay (Ontario) about a 3 hour drive north of Them.
Siobhan went to school there and realized just recently it was 9 years ago !!!!!

So Bapa and I picked up Miss D on Wednesday.
We had terrific Afternoon and evening.

Unfortunately Thursday morning came way too early ...... 5:20 in fact. 

Bapa was leaving for most of the day to give a photographer friend a lead to great bird and scenery pics.
So Miss D and I had a very low key day.


Tea Parties ... reading ... play doh ... colouring ... and yes we settled in with a bit too much Paw Patrol.






We did manage a nice long walk and a trip to the park.




Bed time came a wee bit earlier , 6:30, and so did Nona's.
But a great sleep for everybody. Up at 7. Lots of Cheerios (I may buy stock in the company by how many Cheerios this girl can pack away)
Packed up , in Miss D's chariot AKA Nona and Bapa's Civic), and off to Arnprior.
Bapa was finishing off the fence and Mommy and Daddy arrived home later in the afternoon.
What a happy little girl when she spotted Mommy and Daddy.
Fence pretty well done except for the gate.
Pizzas for supper . A bath for Miss D .
Nona and Bapa headed home.
The house seems a wee bit quiet today and I have an overwhelming urge to watch Paw Patrol.... Why can't I get that theme song out of my head???? ......

Muffins are baked and I have bathrooms to clean.

Gardening in Da Prior

If you have been following Mom in Progress you will know how she is anxious to get her garden in.
We were going to borrow a tiller from a friend
but the grasses and weeds that had grown into the site was way too much for a tiller to handle.
Bapa and I arrived bright and early Saturday morning and the boys quickly got to work.

 

What a job!!

A quick stop for hydration and a turkey sandwich and back at it ...

 

 

Of course there was lots of Miss D time

 

 

Momma made muffins to keep the workers happy and of course

Miss D made short work of a couple

 

 

After a tiring day of digging and swimming in the pool

We had a great BBq of grilled hot dogs, potatoe salad, lots of crunchy veggies, and triple chocolate chip cookies.

 

The next day was to finish the garden and get some plants in.

 

 

Lots of top soil and sheep manure

 

 

All construction work needs a foreman....

 

 

Hugs for Daddy

 

Siobhan is very happy to get her garden in and now we just have to wait and watch it grow.

A Hike with Miss D

Another terrific sleepover with our Miss D
A great afternoon of reading. Chalking. Having tea parties.
A little nap and then a yummy spaghetti dinner.

End the evening with a bath and off to dream land.

Next day after breakfast we all bundled up ---- it was a very chilly wind whipping day
And head to a local Conservation area  Mill of Kintail.

She loved it. Traipsing down the road.

I don't think she minded the cold one bit.
The girl just loves being outside.



She would have stayed out longer I'm sure.

Gingerbread House

Miss D was here last week for a sleepover. Her Mommy is still battling a nasty flu.

Her first date was with Kathy J

 who stopped in for a cup of tea and some Christmas goodies.



Of course there was playing

 and reading and the all important trekking for a walk with her Bapa.


When Bapa heads to the door she is right behind him with boots in hand.
A little "ciao" wave to Nona and off they go











The Highlight of this visit was Gingerbread House decorating.


I had all the forms already baked and assembled.
and off we go .....

A Busy Busy Weekend

Bapa and I had another sleepover with our Miss D
It is becoming almost a weekly or ten dayish thing altho the next couple of weeks may be disrupted by doctor appointments and Santa Claus parades
We landed in Arnprior at our regular 11 ish o'clock on Friday
Had a bit of a visit with Mommy
Packed up Miss D and off to Herriott Street
It is so much fun having her here
She loves to chalk up a storm on her chalkboard table
Colour pictures in her book
Build lots of towers with her Mega Blocks
Read her favourite stories over and over and over
Bapa loves taking her shopping

Our nephew and his kiddlys came Saturday afternoon for a visit
His wife Brandy was doing a show in our town that day

Lots of playing ensued

Darla helped Uncle Iain make pizza dough

She would have loved to stay for pizza and "stay for a sleepover" she told us
It was great having them here and I know Miss D loved the company
This is Marlo -- look at those big baby blues

Siobhan and Will arrived later Saturday and we had pizza
Played a great game of Scrabble ---- closest game yet
More friends dropped by on Sunday to visit us BUT I really think they were here to get a Miss D fix

And then everyone was gone .... HB and I sipped on a glass of red wine and
reflected on how lucky we are

Then I looked at my window this morning

..... just a last little handprint so I wouldn't forget her LOL
