Miles-stones

Our sweet lil Munchkin Miles is on the move.

Yup crawling his lil heart out.
Discovering cat food, water dish and everything else that is within reach.
Daughter Holly and son in law Dan have got their hands full .
Our Sweet Pea Riley is pulling herself up on the furniture and I have no doubt she will bypass the crawl and go for the cruise!

There are videos of both these and once Holly posts them on her blog I will put up the link.
Times like these that really hit home that I am 2000 miles away!
I am so thankful that I have a great relationship with my girls and they include us almost immediately in these steps.
What did we do before Facebook and Skype?

HB is on his annual golf trip to Myrtle Beach.

He looks forward to this getaway.
Spends time doing something he loves and gets to spend some Bro time and time with golf buddies.

I am looking forward to doing some intense spring cleaning (yup I know I am lame)
Anyone else get excited to see a cupboard organised?
Also have some painting and redecorating  to do in our downstairs bathroom.
There is yard work to do and I have
some sock projects in process.

Candles and Knitting

You will find me surrounded by candle light
knitting a pair of socks!
You?

And Another Week Begins........

What a week and weekend!
Got a frantic call from my girl Siobhan on Tuesday.
Ceiling is leaking ---- AGAIN!
So Tuesday night the whole gang -- kittties included made it out to Herriott Street.
Now if anyone has read my blog in the recent months you know how my girls take to company.

You've got to be kidding me

What?????

Especially the fur kind -- HIDE!!!!!
So Siobhan, Will and MacGuffin and Mulligan were here til Saturday.

Waiting for treats

The boys felt at home

Their ceiling isn't repaired yet but supposed to be this week.
If not I suspect we will have company again.
Friday I spent cleaning and laundry.
How did I get myself so far behind????
Saturday the Peas were entered into a baby race at the Duggan Mall in Camrose.

I don't think they were clear on the concept but boy did they look sweet!

I spent the day cooking and tablescaping.
Had a lovely dinner with friends, looked at long awaited Costa Rican pictures and great discussions.
I was exhausted ,went to bed at 11:30 and slept til almost 9!
Sunday Iain and Will spent the afternoon at a golf simulator.
Siobhan and I went shopping.
She got a few things for her upcoming trip to Camrose.
And I got a sweet pair of orange wedges.

Went back to Siobhan and Will"s for pizza and beer.
Got home around 9,watched Nicholas Cage yell thru a movie, went to bed and read for a bit and then off to sleep.
And here we are starting another week....................

Open the Windows

And the day came when the risk to remain tight
in a bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom.
Anais Nin

Yippee! It's spring.
Been wonderful here -- sunny and 24 the past couple of days.
Chardonnay on the deck and windows wide open.
Time to clean the clothesline and get that laundry flapping.
I am almost looking forward to spring cleaning.
Who am I kidding -- it is already started.

Happy Birthday Pixie Ears

27 years ago my youngest was born.
Yup on the Ides of March.

Her dad wanted to call her Caesaria.
Now I have a fondest for the Baird but
Can you imagine giving a child that burden for the rest of her life?
No!
So what dd we do --- we named her Siobhan.
Yup by the time she was 18 months old she could spell her name.
"What's your name honey?"
Siobhan --- S-I-O-B-H-A-N
She has grown into a lovely young woman and her dad and I are very proud of the person she has become.

Happy Birthday sweet girl!!

Big Move and Big Year

Finally Siobhan and Will are moved.
Iain and I arrived Friday afternoon.
Iain and Will picked up the truck.
Enjoyed the evening having supper and watching hockey.
Boo Hoo Sens lost!
Saturday -- move move move.
By about 3 all was moved in.
Champers and pizza.

Sunday Iain and I went for a wee drive to the Deschenes Rapids.

Iain (who according to me is a world class birder) is in competition with his buddy, Kevin, to see who can see the most birds in Ontario in one year.
I believe the number to beat is 338.
This competition is called "The Big Year"!
Not to be confused by the movie of the same name.
It is based on a book (Mark Obmascik) and altho birders do have a sense of humour the book was not written as a funny thing.
Anyway he was searching for this gull.
Heerman's Gull
From the Internet

It is a rarity usually only residing in California, Mexico, and southern B C.
Unfortunately he did not see it.
It was a nice outing anyway.

Got an awful email from Siobhan last night.
Their living room ceiling was leaking from the upstairs bathroom.
To make matters worse their superintendent said it wasn't an emergency!!!!!
Well now the ceiling has burst and there is water everywhere.
I haven't heard from her this morning but plan on giving her a call this morning
