Final Lake Wrap

Could be the official Engagement Photo!!
Miles enjoying a quick nap in someone's arms
 Riley enjoying Bapa's arms
Is this not the sweetest thing you ever saw??
Here they are in their official cottage wear
 Holly sporting the "infamous hat"
We had many visits from this little character.
I am not scared of too many things but mice make me squeal.
Yes you want to hear a grown woman squeal show me a mouse.
Here is our trail home :-(

It was a fantastic time.
I always enjoy spending time with my family.
There was a lot of sitting, canoeing, fishing, swimming, baby cuddling, oh did i say sitting!
I think everyone had a good time -- there were questions about next year!
Answer--- Definately!!

Life in our Pond

No I am not going to give a biology lesson.
Can't get pictures myself of the life cycle.
Right now our little tadpoles are in between tadpole and tadpole with legs.
Pretty neat!
Mama and her lil friend are still hanging around.

Lake Wrapup Part one

 Our wonderful little cottage
Got lots of baby cuddle time
Miles and Riley enjoyed their afternoon naps in their special tent
I got 4 dishcloths whipped up sitting and enjoying the outside
 Our screened front porch.
Had our morning coffees and evening glass of wine here.
The lake was a wee bit chilly so Miles was less than thrilled to have his tootsies dunked!
I took this picture right at the best moment.
I have done absolutely nothing to it!
Isn't this beautiful?
There was a lot fishing in the evening -- morning --and afternoon!
Catch and release of course!

More to come later!
Having a migraine battle right now.

Good Bye Jack

Canada's NDP leader Jack Layton died today after his battle with cancer.
No matter your views of his politics you cannot deny he was very passionate about what he believed.

RIP Jack

Back Home

After a glorious week at the lake we are back.
It was fantastic and got us to thinking about having a little place of our own!
There is lots to do at home ---- laundry,  gathering the cat hair tumbleweeds, weeding the garden, gathering veggys from the garden, watering said garden (altho as I write it is raining), putting cottage stuff away, planning next weeks activities and menus.
So til next week sometime this is what we woke to every morning last week.

And went to sleep to every night

Things to Do

I know I have been very lax in keeping up with this blog.
For some reason I am just not finding the time to sit down and blog about my goings on.
I hope a week at the cottage will make me re evaluate my things to do list and blogging will be in that list.

I am pretty well packed up for the cottage and today I am getting a new spruce up, taking our key to Aunty Deb, last min laundry, tidy up the house and getting the fruits and veggies for our week!

Everyone is looking forward to this week and we don't even mind if it rains a bit.

I wish you all a fabulous week!!

Love being Nona

Where has the time gone? Well I really shouldn't be asking that question because I know exactly where it has gone. I have been spending as much time as I possibly can with the two most beautiful grandchildren ever born. Since summer has FINALLY decided to be my knitting needles have been given a wee vacation and I have pulled out the old Pfaff. My neice had her little baby boy about 6 days after Miles and Riley arrived and now a good friend of Holly's has had a little girl. There have been more burp cloths and bibs rolled off that machine than I care to count!

Being so dry it has been difficult keeping up with the garden. Unfortunately it has been so dreadfully humid that some of my poor plants have suffered terribly. I always am grateful having so many perennials.
The tadpoles are getting very big and i am quite interested to see what happens when they get to be adults.

We spent a wonderful Sunday at our friends' cabin on Palmerston Island. It was a gloriously relaxing day. Maybe one too many G and T's but oh well I didn't have to drive home!

In just over a week we will spend 7 days at this cottage.
