Lemony Panna Cotta

Panna Cotta ----
a delicious milk pudding dessert ---
made with milk cream sugar flavouring and gelatin.

I've made numerous types -- buttermilk, chocolate, passion fruit, blood orange, and plain ole vanilla.

This Easter I made Lemon. Served with a raspberries.
What could make it even better ----- Madeleines!!
Well unfortunately I forgot that mostly everything is closed today ----
I did not have any butter and one egg short.
So I did a load of laundry instead.

Lemon Panna Cotta
1 Tablespoon gelatin
1/4 cup water
2 cups 35% cream
1 cup milk
1/2 cup sugar
Grated zest of 2 lemons

Sprinkle gelatin in a small bowl with the 1/4 cup water.
Bring the cream, milk, zest, and sugar to a warm temp --- do not boil --- to dissolve the sugar.
Add the dissolved gelatin to the cream mixture and whisk til incorporated.
Strain into  a 4 cup measuring cup.
Pour into 6 - 8  1/2 cup ramekins or martini glasses or whatever vessel you have on hand.
Cover tops with plastic wrap. Refrig about 6 hours.

And looky looky who made a surprise appearance for supper.

All dressed in her Easter finery plus curls

Furnace problems :-( but Nona and Bapa get to have a sleepover for a couple nights.

Grand Kid Love

Well here I am back in the saddle -----
It feels weird starting back at this after being a month away
:where do I start
:what do I start with

I guess I will just start with today ....
I've been battling some nasty bug and am hoping to get through the day without drifting off to sleep in the middle of something.
HB is just getting over it and Siobhan @ Mom in Progress has the awful persistent cough that hangs on.

No Easter celebrations here @ 44. Miss D is spending part of the weekend at the "other" G Parents..
HB and I will have an Easter dinner and luscious lemon dessert. Of course I will set the table with some sort of bunny tablescape with a bit of chocolate.

Holly and our Alberta g kids came for a visit a couple weeks ago.
It was terrific to see them .
It was quite the house full here at times with 8 of us around the table.
AND I LOVED EVERY MINUTE OF IT!!!!!
Some days I felt all I did was prep meals or clean up ---- altho HB helped a lot in that department.
Holly needed some time to think about things that are happening in her life right now.
Sometimes you just need to have the warmth and
love of your family surrounding you to help with certain decisions.

We took everyone to the Children's Museum in Hull (Quebec)

The big display was Thomas the Tank Engine and the twins had a blast.
Daphne didn't quite get it but enjoyed the craft area and watching ALL the kids.

There was A LOT of Lego, play dough, colouring, gluing, baking,
pizza eating, outside play, stories, and TONS of cuddles.

It was very very difficult letting them go and saying good bye

Got some family pics that I have been wanting to have for a long time...
I have to do some manipulating of the pics but I am so happy to have them I had to share some of them right away
